The SpywareBot Review:

When you first install SpywareBot then you are prompted to check for the latest updates to the spyware definitions database so you can sure you’re up to date on the latest spyware threats.

SpywareBot installs quickly and easily. Once it’s loaded unlike many other spyware programs it doesn’t update itself with the latest spyware database definitions but you can quickly do that yourself from the options menu.

The SpywareBot interface is simple and easy to navigate. On the main screen you get information such as last system scan, how many scans you have done previously and a breakdown of how many items have been removed previously from your system.

If you click the big scan now button on the main screen then the program launches in to scan mode and runs through all of your systems folders and registry files looking for spyware problems. You can also choose which areas of your computer you want scanned if you want to speed things up a bit.

Scan time in SpywareBot was very quick, taking just a minute. Once it’s finished you are shown the results area with a scrolling list of spyware problems found including malicious cookies and other applications and where they are located. You can choose to have them all deleted automatically or you can scroll through the infection list and pick which items you would like deleted. Unfortunately SpywareBot doesn’t give you any kind of detailed explaination of what a trojan or keylogger is which is fine if you’re a more experienced computer user but for the newcomer you might want more details on what you’re deleting.

SpywareBot also has a quarantined feature which is a failsafe incase the program deletes some applications that your system actually needs. They get added to the quarantine section first and from there you can select if they should be deleted forever or restored to their original location. A useful feature.

SpywareBot also has a comprehensive options area where you can select to start SpywareBot when Windows starts and log all program activity plus from this screen you can choose if you want the registry, cookies or active processes scanned.

The final area to cover in SpywareBot is the ignore list. Another useful feature, the ignore list can be setup by you so that the program will ignore certain programs, files or applications meaning they won’t accidnetly be scanned and removed by the program.

Overall I would highly recommend SpywareBot for anybody looking for a robust spyware removal tool for their computer. The program does a very good job of removing spyware from a computers operating system automatically and with its regular spyware database downloads you can be sure the program will help greatly with preventing future infestations.
